In leadership and life, failure and disappointment is a given, but is sometimes necessary for leaders to reach their full potential. Everyone goes through slumps in life where they just don’t feel like themselves, and sometimes even the most motivational and positive individuals go through their rough patches. Even when trying their best to lift others up, they feel their own life crashing down. To succeed, a leader must find their own resilience, the ability to find the inner strength to bounce back from a setback or challenge.

There are times in a leader's life where they may not feel like they are making a difference, where one feels both isolated and forgotten. Even when struggling to find one’s purpose, it is important to realize that even when your words or actions seem insignificant to someone, your impact will not be forgotten. Whether your best friend, the stranger on the street, or people in your class, your words and actions become a piece of their story.
Never sell yourself short of the impacts you have made.
Remember why you started leading in the first place.
The people you have impacted will never forget what you have done for them. Impacts are something that leave a lasting impression, and whether they realize it or not, will not be forgotten.
Great servant leaders become great because of their passion to serve. While there are times the passion may feel lost, it can be brought back. You had a vision to change the world and a heart to impact others at one point, so why let a failure, setback, or the unknown stop you? Once you pick yourself back up, you can continue that journey to change the world. Ask yourself the question: what do I need to do to lead those I am called to?
Find your purpose, follow your purpose, lead with your purpose. When the going gets tough, leaders get going. Even when it feels like your passion has dissipated and your purpose is futile, stay true to you, stay strong, stay resilient, stay a leader.
